Skywriter

I am a skywriter.

Daydreaming, stargazing, I fix my eyes skyward.
Words dance across the sky as I compose, whispering my secrets to the stars.
My thoughts; they cloud, drift, and fall…..
Like stars, rain, and snow
Falling gentle, unspoken from my hand…

Vocalized; words scream around me like a swift storm wreaking chaos.
A silent center in a cyclone of words, my words fail…
I stand silent, strong, and hopeful.
Daydreaming, stargazing, I fix my eyes skyward.

 I am a skywriter.

I Keep My Heart Hidden

I keep my heart hidden.
My face a silver surface
Reflecting, deflecting everything…

I keep my winter heart hidden.
A frozen surface,
Where my pain and tears die,
Reflecting, deflecting.

I keep my heart hidden.
My face a silver surface
Reflecting, deflecting everything…

I keep my spring heart hidden.
My dreams begin to soar,
I sing, I dance.
Reflecting, deflecting.

I keep my heart hidden.
My face a silver surface
Reflecting, deflecting everything…

I keep my summer heart hidden,
My secrets whisper for those with ears to hear.
I flirt, I tease.
Reflecting, deflecting.

I keep my heart hidden.
My face a silver surface
Reflecting, deflecting everything…

I keep my autumn heart hidden.
My thoughts gather like a storm.
I feel, I meditate, I am.
Reflecting, deflecting.

I keep my heart hidden.
My face a silver surface
Reflecting, deflecting everything…

Interesting Class... Cool Place

I have signed up for a writing course at Ox-Bow in Saugatuck this summer.

What Can I Do with the Personal Besides Be Personal
with Jack Ridl
July 25th, 10am-5pm, $95

In this writing workshop we will have fun, have a good time, make your day meaningful. We will work/play with your personal experiences and explore a bunch of ways to merge them with a range of connections to the historical, off-beat, to surprising juxtapositions, information from other sources, to the mundane in ways anything but mundane, settings, the past, the future, to personal mythology, to what on the surface appears unrelated, to whateverrrrrrrrr.

And since virtually everything I write is personal, this seemed a great fit. I've started seeing the teacher's name all over the place. Marion turned me on to Dunes Review and he's all over there...maybe a consultant/staff/whatever...I'm not finding it at the moment. Also quite an acclaimed professor at Hope College for many years.

I have been to some incredible places in my day. Ox-Bow ranks right up there as one of the best. It just oozes creativity and unspoiled coexistence with nature.

And if you sign up, lemme know...I know that area like the back of my hand and can turn you on to some cool places. In fact, Venetian Festival is that weekend. None of us mere mortals will be able to afford a room around there (though if any of you win the lottery 'tween now and then, I have a great hotel recommendation), but it is an incredible cultural event/party!!!
